Leon is currently handing out leaflets for a health spa, the pay is standard but it's saving him from rinsing his savings, plus he is able to make use of their ultra sweet gym! Pigs are not suited for Australia, the lady from the interview company was right, only opportunities available for pigs are bacon sarnies and field work, so looks like I'll be employed by Leon for the duration of the working holiday, the pay is rubbish but ill be ok.. Unphased by the lack of replies from the multiple resumes sent out to retail and hotel companies, he is still on a mission, today he contacted a photography company who need a sales man, it's part time so will fit in with the current job.. Very positive and looks like he hit it of with the director so trotters crossed(if that's possible). Hostel life is heavy, living with 8 lads in a room lacking air con and windows is not what he expected, it would be ok if the guy under him would stop w***ing.. But what can u do, it's natural right... Riiiigggghhtttt?! So needless to say a move was needed, he was lucky meeting a fellow traveller from London, he is called Luke and is proper sound, currently working for a documentary/tv company doing an internship, the project is cutting edge, utilising social media with current affairs to give the people a voice rather than being submissive viewers (sheeple) being led to the slaughter. Luke found a sweet pad in northbridge, we are currently getting used to having space to ourselves and loving the fact we have an authentic Australian pad to kick it, not to mention locality to the bars, clubs and tourist spots. Amenities such as the library, sports club and cricket grounds are all close by and it looks as of this could a great place to start the trip. We are still in contact with the hostel and we booked a trip to rottnest island with them today, a well earned break from the constant job search and administrative tasks needed to keep afloat here, he has now got an Australian tax no. bank account, supranational acc (Australian version of retirement fund) and Medicare which is sure to be needed knowing his past experience.. Keeping in contact with friends and family gives him a chance to feel at home whilst being so far away, everyone is great and he seems to be missing them a lot, on the other side of the card he is building relationships and contacts all the time. Time to crack open a beer and relax, cause its Friday and time to live the dream!
