It's been 5 days since we arrived, a lot of talking, drinking and eating, we've met some interesting people along the way. The city of Perth, is smaller than originally expected, you can trot from the west side to the east side within 45 minutes. The people have been great, really overwhelmed by the helpfulness and kind spirited persons we have met so far, however you will always come in to contact with less than reputable souls, who are only in it for themselves, when we first arrived we were befriended and lured into a state of trust the thing is and leon should have learned from past his mistakes, that trust is earned. The $50 lent was paid back in drinks bought in credit however the second time he was asked and took a firm stance the situation quickly turned confrontational and ended with words id rather not repeat. Also when a fellow traveler woke up to his hands in his pocket, it was time for him to leave. Turns out the individual concerned was black listed from a majority of hostels in Perth and currently under surveillance by the cops. I always had a feeling there was something not quite cosher with that one, anyway experiences are there to be learnt from and now we move on, just hope he doesn't become a colder untrusting person for it, but he seems alright. The hostel is full all the time and there are newcomers everyday, there is never a shortage of people to introduce ourselves to. On Thursday night we found ourselves in an Irish bar eating Guinness and steak pie, the table was a multicultural mashup of Kiwi's, Brits, Swiss, Dutch and German nationalities let's just say language barriers made the conversations highly amusing, after the meal we came back and drank the night away playing cards and listening to tunage. The job hunt is progressing, we had an interview yesterday with a sales company, the product is a voucher booklet for $15,000 of free services and should help drive additional sales in the future. I didn't like the ladie interviewing, she told Leon pigs couldn't work on the phones which is discrimination and shouldn't be tolerated in the workplace, also the comment about pigs only belonging in fields and or baps was totally out of order.. Either way it was the quickest interview he ever had, a script was read and when asking about average company conversion rates we were fobbed off with the answer everyone has a different call to sale ratio, needless to say the job hunt continues.
