We were sad to leave Manjimup but a friend once said its hard to say hello to a stranger but harder to say bye to a friend. Which is very true, when your connect with people who are in the same boat as you it makes jumping ship a lot more difficult but that is life, the memories from our experiences will last forever and Leon had some great times. Heres a few interesting events which occurred over the last two months... When we first arrived in Manjimup the cherry festival had begun, people from all over the shire came for cherry spitting competitions, vintage cars and of course the live music from the Beatles tribute band, after drinking into the evening Leon and his new pals ventured into the Manjimup timber park for some twisting and shaking there had been copious amounts of alcohol drank and food was on everybody's minds, we visited Lehart who was serving food from a kebab stand and he offered us a huge box of free food which nearly broke Leon's back, when we got to the hostel everyone was happy to eat from the box of goodies.. On Christmas we all bought secret Santa gifts and Leon was given a pirate outfit to wear due to the arggh ha harrs which randomly burst out during most drinking sessions, this was quite possibly the most random day of the year! After new years we had a few more interesting nights but the best must have been the fancy dress party, most of the guys dressed as women and the girls dressed as farmers Leon ended up wearing and wetsuit and a snorkel and as usual got very very drunk. With the good times there were also dramas with certain people causing a scene but the only thing lost would have been a little dignity and a few windows, but this is life and we all learn from our mistakes! The most entertaining drama was when a lad was evicted because he sat on a part of a sofa he shouldn't of the manager of the hostel scared the life out of him which turned in to a battle of the egos, then half the guys in the hostel decided to join in when the ruck started, the part which made Leon laugh was that when he got locked out he decided to smash a window to get back in when he could have just walked round the side.. At this point the Manji experience had been a little tainted and it was certainly time to make plans.. But all in all the Manji hostel is a great place to stay if you don't mind paying a few fines that is.. I found that if you play by the rules and don't get out off line you will be alright. So the journey continues Leon is now sat at the top of mt Clarence over looked the harbour of Albany reminiscing on the last few months and looking towards the future.
