Thursday we were up super early for our bus to Da Lat, we were collected at 7:00 for another 4 hour drive inland through bendy roads! We arrived at midday and walked to our hostel with 2 others from our bus that were staying at the same place, Michael and Karina. As all 4 of us had no plans for the afternoon we all decided to head to Crazy House as advised by the Lonely Planet book. Crazy House is an unconventional building designed and constructed by Vietnamese architect Đặng Việt Nga, it's known and described as a fairy tale house with the building's overall design resembling a giant tree, incorporating animals, mushrooms, spider webs and caves, it has been highlighted as one of the world's ten most bizarre buildings. When we got back Ben introduced Michael and Karina to Jungle Speed so we played a few games before dinner. Our hostel hosts dinner every night, they lay a huge banquet of food and guest can turn up and pay $3, it was very social and great to try different home cooked Vietnamese food!
Friday we were collected at 8:00 to go Canyoning, there was 17 guests from our hostel all going. As soon as we arrived we were kitted up and had a demonstration on how to abseil then we were straight in the knitty gritty of it! Throughout the day we abseiled down cliffs which involved letting go of the rope and dropping into water at the bottom, floated down rivers, slided down mini waterfalls, jumped off cliffs into water and Ben abseiled down 2 waterfalls which he loved! We were very exhausted at the end and rather cold so all had to fight over the showers when we got back. We played more Jungle Speed and were joined by others we got friendly with throughout the day then all sat down for our $3 feast!! After dinner we played some more cards then headed off to bed, we were so tired and had to be up early for our journey back to Ho Chi Minh.
