9 - 10th March 2014 - living and working in Clermont QLD.
Wow I can not believe it's the middle of March already...time is flying by!
So I have now been living and working in Clermont for nearly 2 weeks, I almost feel Australian...and m sure il pick up the accent as I'm surround by Oz here all day! I work 6 days a week behind the bar and am getting more and more used to the whole country pub environment, the locals are used to me and I am used to their regular orders. Although if you forget what they always order, you can expect a grumpy face and a 'bloody poms' Most nights the pub closes around 12 but on weekends it's open till about 3am, so my sleeping patterns are all over the place. Sleeping while I sun bath is the key.
I have found out a bit more about Clermont this week, there are two shops which you can buy your food in, both are so expensive and small, but you can get the essentials there. However about an hour and a half from here and you reach emerald which is where the airport is, they have a massive Woolworth's so shopping there you get much more variety and it's cheaper. One of the local guys took me an Lucy there today which meant I stocked up on food. As the cooking facilities are limited I pretty much live on jacket potato and tuna salad or rice and pesto, so shopping is not too exciting...although I do treat myself to a cheeky tim tam every now and then. I have also found a local hairdresser which I hear is good, so have booked in for highlights on Wednesday. If I'm wearing a hat in the next set of photos you'd know the hair hasn't been a success.
It's been good to catch up with people this week, thanks for phoning Cassie can't believe your back in Canterbury makes me want a cup of tea, a gossip session and a night in barbars...kinda.
Glad Granny and pops are well, the footy is going really well at the moment 7 points clear at the top of the league...what more could we want? Come on Chels!! And the weathers improving for you.
Mum and dad are loving life in Barbados...lucky them!
Granny H iv found a job for you out here!!! When are you coming? Haha.
Hope everyone else is well!
