24 - Monday 22nd September 2014, Cairns, Queensland, Australia
I have arrived in Cairns, after leaving Perth yesterday I felt somewhat emotional to leave spinners backpacker and all my friends behind. I stayed in Perth from July through to September, working on 2 jobs. I have had some incredible memories there meeting some great people; Jackie, Kym, Tyler, James, Josh, Darren, Nico, rob and of course April who I plan to meet in November on the east coast. It was probably one of the best times iv whiles traveling as we had constant laugh, constant drinking, beach seasons, cinemas ahhh we had so much fun, I will miss you all and will be back. I miss ye all boring b******s! Haha
So arriving in cairns I really want to like it, as it's the place I have recommended for mum, dad, ants, Charlie and kris to meet me. The first thing I noticed was the heat it's mega hot this time of year so I was delighted :) and know they will be too. It's a beautiful tiny weeny city. Reminds me much of a holiday town, very relaxed, plenty of bars, lagoons and of course a beach full of crocs! It's awesome and I have a great feeling it will be perfect for our family holiday aswel. Cairns is one of the places along the east coast where all the activity take place, like: sky dives, water raft, jungle visit, bungee jumps, croc swims, scuba diving, trips to the reef and plenty more. So we shouldn't get bored! It's only about 10 days until they all arrive but it feels like forever away. I can't wait to have a proper catch up with everybody, I know it sounds sad, but bare in mind I haven't seen them since New Year's Eve, so it will be fabulous I know!
Having been here over 24 hours now I need to start sorting a few things out, like book a car to pick them all up in, collecting the keys for the house and thinking about some essential shopping items...tim tams are obviously a must. Other than these practical things I have just been spending some time topping up my tan at the lagoon throughout the day and drinking in the evening.
Wow I love my life at the moment and it scares me to think this 2014 dream is nearly over. Having been traveling for nearly 10 months I still don't get excited about going home to normality. However getting to see my family and friends is what will make it worth while, an I also need to start planning 2015 anther adventure. Some might say settle down and get a job...well I say hmmm I can do that at 40 but I can't do this. So here's to a few more years of travel, excitement and adventures!
