Today it was finally time to wave goodbye to Octopus after 12 amazing days in paradise. We got up early for breakfast and to finish packing. 10am was checkout time, and because of all of our drinks and trips went on a tab, we were a bit worried about how big our bill would be (although I've tried to keep count!). It ended up being roughly what I thought, so no nasty shocks!
The rain poured down all day morning and into the afternoon, and we prepared ourselves for a soggy boat ride, digging out our waterproofs for the first time on the trip! Mine was still too big for me but I managed to fit my rucksack on underneath my jacket, which was good!
The boat was a bit late so we eventually left about 3:30pm. THe staff came to sing us the goodbye song - we'll miss Octopus a lot! Onto the Yasawa Flyer and a long 2.5 hour trip to the port, but managed to sleep for some of it. We saw Elena again, who was heading for a flight to LA - long day!
At Nadi, we jumped on the bus to transfer us to Bluewater Lodge - turned out to be a very good choice (well done me!) - got our taxi booked for the morning and dinner sorted straight away. Free internet and clean rooms and bathrooms - a relaxing last night in Fiji!
