We bi-passed Christchurch to the town of Kaikoura. Its whale watching that draws the tourists here, but unfortunately we couldn't afford the helicopter ride for that, though Shani did and she managed to see a huge sperm whale! Very jealous....... We did however just happen across over 50 dolphins leaping out the water doing flips and racing along the coast. Such an awesome sight, and again seals are plentiful. Nice little town, though little being the word...

Caitlins....... After leaving Queenstown we did a fair bit of driving to reach trhe Catlins area. First stop Nugget Point, which is the site of a retired lighthouse, and home to many a seal either basking on the rocks or fighting against the rough water New Zealands South island is famous for. It was the windiest day up there too, though it was well worth it for the amazing views!! Oamaru........ After the lighthouse we headed into the town of Oamaru. ...

As we were in a bit of a rush, we missed off quite a bit from the last blog. So back to Queenstown.... If you remember the Luging in Rotorua, we also did the same here, this time we did 6 runs of the track, and Laura and Shani have the best photographs of it all. We laughed like excited school kids...... Brilliant! As we were here quite a while we went to the pictures to see Rio and even entered a pub quiz. Unfortunately we came well LAST! To be fair though...

Next stop was the Glaciers. We woke up early to go and see the sun rising over Fox Glacier and it looked amazing! We went for a walk around a lake and saw the reflection of Mount Cook and Mount Tasmin in the water. The snow capped mountains looked stunning with the sun just hitting the top of them. We stoped to have breakfast looking out over the mountains. Only when we got to the gift shop did we realise that that is where the mints get there name from - Fox Gla...

After our piss up in Wellington we made it down to the South Island......after the worlds worst boat ride EVER!!! We were told by loads of people that the boat ride is really pretty and has stunning views so we were quite looking forward to it. However, 5 minutes into the journey and both Shani and myself were feeling rather sea sick. VERY seasick!!!!! Ben was running between the 2 of us giving us more sick bags. He couldnt even walk properly on the boat without ...
