If I had to describe Bangkok in one word it would be smelly. If I had to describe it in two words in would be bloody smelly. Apart from the smell though itd actually a good place to be. We havent actually done anything here apart from sleep, drink and eat weird food. When I say eating weird food I mean Ben eating weird food. He thought he would be macho and eat a scorpian but regretted it the second it went in his mouth and nearly threw up! So he washed it down with a locust. NICE
We only brought about hundred quid for the few days we are here but are struggling to spend it because its so cheap! Still got half our money left and we are leaving in half an hour!!! Im sure i can find something to spend it on though
Although we have only been here a few days its been very eventful! After surviving the 11 hour flight (just) we had to get on a bus to go to the hotel and we ended up on the wrong one. If we had stayed on it we would have been circling the airport for the few days we had here. So we decided to get off and ask for directions. Ben asked someone working there for directions for the bus and a french man turned up who couldnt speak any English (or Thai). Ben being the boff he is was translating his directions for him but we all ended up on the same bus anyway
When we got to the hotel, we checked in, I turned round and my bag had dissapeared! I thought it was just my luck but somehow it ended up back on the bus!?!?! who knows but its safely back with me now anyway.
Apart from the few mishaps its been really good but we are now off to New Zealand. Yes I know there has just been an earthquake there but we are going to the other island first so we will be fine.
Speak to you all soon!
miss you loads

mum It was a lovely surprise to get your blog today-its a great way to catch up on what you are doing. Sounds pretty eventful up to now - but I thought it would be I know it was when Kate first travelled. Nothing much happening this end except that Kate had yet another interview and still doesnt know if she has got it. Hopefully we should know next week. James has got a little dog from the rescue centre he is a little yorkie called frankie he is rather cute, and very strange doesnt bark or make any noise which is odd considering ours never stop barking. Fred got on well with him, but Jason kept trying to bite him - good job he hasnt got any teeth. One thing nice about it, is that James wants the dogs to all get on so keeps bringing him round so we get to see more of him. Just hope that they keep up with all the walking etc. James said he felt so sorry for the dogs he could have brought them all home. BY the time you get this you should be in Oz please keep up to date re: the earthquake as it was really bad and they are still getting aftershocks. Dont forget to hook up with Brian and Helen as Im sure you will be more than welcome. Love and miss you loads and loads, luv Mum Dad James Kate and the two ruffians they send their barks. xxxxx
