After our piss up in Wellington we made it down to the South Island......after the worlds worst boat ride EVER!!! We were told by loads of people that the boat ride is really pretty and has stunning views so we were quite looking forward to it. However, 5 minutes into the journey and both Shani and myself were feeling rather sea sick. VERY seasick!!!!! Ben was running between the 2 of us giving us more sick bags. He couldnt even walk properly on the boat without looking really drunk because it was swaying so much in the water. We made it there eventually and survived to tell the story. Plus the views in the harbour were really beautiful! We celebrated Bens birthday in true English style.......getting drunk! Although because the weather was so great we decided to just sit around the campsite and enjoy the day there.

Next stop was the Abel Tasman National Park where we did a 52Km trek in 3 days. This sounds a lot easier than what it actually was! We were all carrying our rucksacks, plus the tent and all the food we needed for the few days. Also, we had to basically swim through rivers that were waist deep because we had missed the low tide! We got an Aqua Taxi to the top of the Park and saw a few baby seals in the rocks. We were a bit apprehensive about getting on another boat because of our experience on the other one but it was fine in comparison! We were completely out of civilisation with no phones, showers or even drinking water but it was abosultely amazing and we even saw a beach that was voted 5th in the world! Although we had terrible blisters, painful shoulder/ feet etc etc it was well worth it!
