As we were in a bit of a rush, we missed off quite a bit from the last blog.
So back to Queenstown....
If you remember the Luging in Rotorua, we also did the same here, this time we did 6 runs of the track, and Laura and Shani have the best photographs of it all. We laughed like excited school kids...... Brilliant!
As we were here quite a while we went to the pictures to see Rio and even entered a pub quiz. Unfortunately we came well LAST! To be fair though most of the rounds were about New Zealand Tv or National parks etc so we didn't really have a chance! Thats our excuse anyways........
We went on a cruise through Milford Sound which is an absolutely beautiful place with high waterfalls, seals and is the habbitat for some of New Zealands rarest creatures. The boat also guides the front deck under a huge waterfall, it has industrial thickness waterproof jackets for those brave enough to get out there! Needles to say the 3 of ours were the only ones out there aand of course the jackets didn't suffice......... Soaked but fun :-)
The cruise also had an entrance to an underwater observatory which has a man made coral. Milford sounds has a scientific abnormality with the water there which enables Black Coral to grow in as shallow as 10meters below the surface. Interesting as the Coral is WHITE not black!!! Saw lots of great fish including one that changes colour to scare off other fish, as well as starfish and all manner of other cool stuff!
Peace............
