So we got up bright and early, like most days. We rang around a few garages to see if they would be willing to do a trade with our Ford.. a few considered, so we went to take a look at their cars. We drove to Richmond Suzuki, about 30mins away where we test drove a Suzuki estate, which we really liked - it drove really well and the salesman said we could trade our car + $400, but then his boss didn't agree to such a low price as the Suzuki was worth quite a bit more, so we left that negotiation and went to look at a Kia at another garage. This car wouldn't even start! And it didn't look in the best condition so we gave that a miss.. Finally, we drove 30 minutes to another garage to look at a Mazda Protege 2000. This was the car! It's super clean inside, looks good as new.. and it drives very well, no problems at all. So after a lot of test driving, checking things work, reading through documents..we decided to go for it, despite having to pay a little more than we'd like with our trade. But our insurance has gone down $30 a month so that makes up for it! The man that sold it to us was a very sweet guy, he knew his stuff and wasn't pushy like most salesmen. He was a bit reluctant to take our Ford, but said he'd take the risk.
So it's now 7:50pm and we're back at the apartment, just filled up our tummies with some linguine. Popping to the store to get some phone top-up then time for bed, ready for a super early start and 10 hour drive to Jasper tomorrow!
