Today has been a super busy one.. mostly sorting out document related stuff so it won't sound very exciting! But anyway.. We got up at 5:30am and went for a walk through part of Stanley Park and along the waterfront which was beaut. As we were walking through the park a guy told us to keep to a certain path, so we assumed there was some sort of sporting event taking place.. but it turned out we were walking right through a filming shot! There were lots of makeup tents everywhere and film crew with huge cameras.. Not sure what they were fiming, but it involved a cyclist getting knocked off their bike and getting attacked by a lady!
After, we got a taxi to Granville to get our Social Insurance Numbers and the girl who served us turned out to be selling her car.. so we're in contact with her to see if its something we could go ahead and buy, which could save us a lot of hassle looking at garages to find one.. will keep you updated on that one.
We ate at Dennys diner as it was convenient for brunch! They had maple bacon milkshakes and bacon sundaes on the menu! Yuck! I just wanted blueberry pancakes, but you couldn't order them on their own so I was served a feast of two eggs, sausages and hashbrown on top! Only managed an egg and one & 3/4 pancakes! Jacob had a 'slamsandwich' with a bit of everything in..
We also set up our bank accounts today which took a while, and got offered shortbread because 'we're from England!'.. Jacob asked if they realised it was more of a Scottish delicacy, in a nice way.. We also got offered Chinese egg tarts in there! It's not everyday you go into a bank and expect to be dining in there!
Afterwards we had a long process of setting up a phone contract here.. it wasn't meant to take long but the phone we were getting wasn't in stock so we had to head downtown and find their store that did stock it. Downtown is super busy..yet it doesn't feel crowded because the streets are so big and the roads are so wide. I'm looking forward to going back to spend more time looking at the shops there, as we didn't have much time today.
Its nearly 7pm here so time for sleep after another long day! :)

Kayleigh Which bank did you get in the end! What are chinese egg tarts!! Haha. Makes sense as 50% of population in Vancouver is Asian. I didn't get offered food! That is cool though. Hopefully you'll get somewhere with that car, would be convenient! xxx
Laura H Went with TD..as we were told to go with them or CIBC. Its only $3.95 per month for the account and as we build our balance it will waiver. Its so strange the woman that set it up is in email contact directly with us and she emailed last night to say we left some stuff there that she forgot to give back! Wouldnt get that kind of service in UK! Just got sent photos of the car.. its in good condition and its passed the safety, but its quite high mileage so we're going to look at a few in garages.. xxx
Kayleigh Ahh cool. I think that's what we paid! I forgot it waives it when you have more money. Yes! Canada is just amazing!! xxx
