06/05/21 (Two months on the road) Off and on rainy day at the farm. Mike figured out why my solar panels were working sporadically, bad connector on the solar extension cords but I can still get the panels to work without them, just at a more limited distance from the RV. We decided to stay an extra day here to do some maintenance items and figure out a general plan for our travels. We still want to travel the more scenic routes to wander our way to eastern Oregon and into Idaho. Patti and I drove into Stayton to do laundry where we met Isaac at the laundromat. He answered our questions about the town, local restaurants, and his life. Ever since we saw Sitka Spuce trees near the coast, Patti has wanted to buy one. Isaac went outside to spent 40 minutes calling all the nurseries and reserving four for us as a surprise. (Thank you Isaac!) Patti and I drove to Salem to buy two and brought them back to the RVs. Then Patti and Wayne went back to buy the other two. Each of our homes will have a permanent reminder of this trip to enjoy. All the people we have met in the northwest have been truly wonderful and we have loved everything we have seen.
