Noticed a guy on the benches with what appeared to be a school book but it turns out, stephane from nice in france was trying to learn English! Strange how you can go across the world and speak the same language but try having a conversation with someone from next door, challenging!!! However he did manage to tell me how delicious horse meat was when I told him I rode horses!!!
Getting rather sick of my own cooking so gonna splash out tonight! Kicked all the english' ass at basketball again today, they'll be calling me Michael Jordan by the end of the week! The sun finally appeared today so I went down to the beach and spent half an hour flicking away a jumping spider! Not sure if it was related to the kangaroos out here but it seemed to have springs in it's feet! This was before having my lipsy sunglasses stolen by a wave!!!
My basketball friend offered me a piece of his blood red kangaroo, which I declined until he put it in his fork and virtually fed it to me, won't be requesting it off mum when I get home that's for sure!
The variety and complexity of the people at this hostel I must say is astonishing and it's just like one big happy family! Although my Canadian and French roomies have just left so tonight I will be sleeping alone for the first time in a while! Probably a good job as it's my first night off the alcohol since I arrived! As this place doesn't have a bar, everyone's allowed to drink on the premises until 10.30 which enables you to drink at least a box of goon and 5 black sambucas before you even think about going out to spend $12 on a vodka and redbull.
Just went to fall asleep until I felt something tickle my shoulder, jumped out of bed in a shot to put the light on but hoping it was my hair, sooooo paranoid after some of the monsters I've seen out here!!!
