Kya Travels
After a decent sleep in today, we woke up pretty hungover (or 'destroyed' as Pancho says!) then got ready and drove over to Nina's place. We picked up a pretty sick Nina and went together to the supermarket to pick up some food for breakfast. After the supermarket we went to an Asian grocery store for a few more things, and a bunch of ingredients for Nina's fish soup. (Ew!) When we were finished we drove back to Pancho's and had breakfast together, even though it was after lunch time! After some food and tea we got back in the car, dropped Nina home and went for a drive for about an hour to Köln. Or in English, Cologne. We found a park, got a ticket, then went for a walk down the street, stopping at the first kiosk we saw for a beer! We came to a massive gothic style church in the centre of town which was very pretty and stopped for some photos. I got a photo of Pancho and Darren together, which is very fitting, seeing as Cologne is the gay capital of Germany!! From there we walked down past the museum, which had heaps of ancient roman relics, both inside and outside, which was pretty awesome, then we wandered down to the bridge. It was one of those padlocked lovers bridges, and was the first of its kind in Germany, but heaps of cities have copied it now! There were some really old looking padlocks, and we saw some marked from the 80's too! We found one with Nina's name, and Pancho got a photo with it, which was funny. After that we went back on the same side of the bridge and wandered along the river bank for a while. There was a cool looking water feature, and having a drink from it was one of the biggest dogs I've ever seen! It was huge, slobbery and so cute! Darren got a photo with it, then we kept wandering. We stopped in a music shop that we passed so Pancho could pick up some new drum sticks, then we kept wandering around the old town of Cologne. We window shopped at another music store, then stopped in at an electronics store to look for a cd and get a new charger for Pancho, then slowly made our way back to the car via another kiosk and a toilet. We got back in the car and stopped in a service station before making the drive back to Dortmund. When we got home we had a beer and looked at a few YouTube videos quickly before heading back out and walking into the city. We walked through town and went to Pizza Hut in the city where we met a girl from Pancho's work, Carina, and her girlfriend Kristie. We had a meal together and had many many laughs and a few more beers. A few days later, Carina told Pancho she couldn't remember the last time she'd laughed so much!! After the meal we walked the girls back to their car, where we set up the camera and got a few funny jumping photos, then started to make our way back to Pancho's place. We got a fair few rhino photos on the walk home, then made it home, said bye to Pancho who was going to ride his bike over to Nina's, then went to bed.
