Went on the gondola in Queenstown today with Sarah and Heather. It a really amazing view across the place, makes u really appreciate just how big the lake is and how amazing The Remarkables are! Me and Sarah also had 3 goes on the luges, which were so much fun!! Had to go on a slow, scenic route 1st so we knew we could contorl it properly, cause its so hard apparently! I started off 1st and then Sarah overtook me, only cause shes a pro cause shes done it a few times before lol! I did manage to catch her up and overtake but she did get in front again which i was a bit gutted about lol! The faster one was so much more fun and not that much more difficult, just had a few more turns and hills in it! The second time down I got stuck behind a load of kids who spread out in front of me and i couldnt get passed so Sarah beat me again! And then the third time Sarah belted it past me again, but never mind i had fun and would hav loved to hav done it a few more times! Really think they should make a track that goes all the way down the mountain which would b so much more fun!
Heather took us up to Coronet Peak, which Sarah had also never been to even tho she has stayed with them a few times! Heather was pointing out places we had been, its so confusing I would never had guessed where anything was from up there! We then headed down to Arrowtown, an old gold mining town. All the buildings look like something out of a Western film. Had a mince and cheese pie which was amazing! Got some cherries to take back with us.
Was so hot when we got back me and Sarah went to sun bathe on the wee balcony outside Lesleys room, however we just got so hot Sarah suggested we go for a swim in the lake. Sounded like a great idea at the time but i have to say it had to be the coldest place i've ever swam in!! Needless to say we both did even manage to put our heads under before we ran out!!
Had some more fantastic food and drink! Had another cheese board (didnt know cheese could stretch that far!) and roast chicken with roasted vegies. James and Katie joined us for dinner again. Sat outside chatting for a while and then the wind picked up and it got too cold so we headed in and had some crepes for desert. Ended up watching some engineering programs on tv, one about how they made the walkway a the Grand Canyon which was pretty interesting. All ended up going to bed pretty early as we were all so tired.
