London day four (thursday 22nd august)
Well, our trip is drawing to an end.
After breakfast we packed our suitcases (ever so carefully) then headed to the train station to enjoy our last day in London.
Rachel was very good to us and has said we can leave our bags in our room. It will be great as we can have a shower etc before heading to the airport this afternoon.
We made our way to the Natural History Museum. We had given ourselves a precious 2 hrs to see the museum before heading to do the few other things we wanted but when we arrived there was a minnimum 1hr queue in the rain. We decided it was not worth it. A little disappointed, we headed back to the underground and hopped a line to tower bridge. We walked across and popped into the gift shop for our final present. When we got back upstairs it was raining so we paused briefly then speed walked across the bridge to get back to the underground. We tossed around ideas of riding on the DLR and a high speed train to St Pancras but one of the station workers didn't think we could catch the high speed train so instead we navigated 2 more tube trains. We emerged just near the statue at st Pancras and it was fun to show Andrew.
There was a Marks and Spencers supermarket so we bought some lunch and food to eat at the airport. Chicken and bacon pasta salad and aisan style king prawns with rice salad. We also got some muffins and pastries that were on sale. It is now 1:30pm and we are now sitting at St Pancras national rail station (platform A) seating out train to take us back to Rachel's. We will eat, shower and have a little break before catching our 3:45pm train to the airport.
