Sunday (18th)
Sorry for the delay...
We left the Schmidt's early, 7:45am as we needed to drive 5 hours to Lynne and Christopher's and we had a precious afternoon with them. We stopped at a little town in France. It was so cute with bright houses and old buildings. Andrew and I shared a coconut meringue - yum.
We continued our drive and were blessed with amazing scenery (castles and ruins on nearly every hill) it was very beautiful.
We found Lynne and Christopher's town but then got a little lost finding their street. Nelly couldn't find it and we ended up wasting half an hour of precious visiting time finding it. But we did thanks to Andrew and our iPad.
It was so lovely seeing them. The boys were bursting at the seams excited (after Ryan warmed up to us). Andrew became a favorite and when we went to the park Stephen wanted to show him all that he could do. We wondered around the streets of Divonne Les Bains.
and found a fast flowing stream that ran through the middle. It was quite picturesque.
We then headed back to their house. Lynne had made a beautiful cake (that we ate before the park) and she and mum made dinner. It was great fun catching up and I'm glad we made the effort, even for a few hours.
We reluctantly left them and drove to the next town to where we were staying for the night. It was a little closer to Geneva so it made sense. Our rooms were small and not what mum had expected at all. Andrew and I sorted out our suitcases and we all headed to bed.
