Norway -day three

Thought I'd shake things up a little. It'll give you an idea of how we roll...

Our drive today....brief:
Drive, stop for photos. Drive, stop for loo break. Drive, stop to buy cherries from a roadside stall. Drive, stop to check information board, find souvenir shop and do some shopping. Drive stop at a fossen aka waterfall. Drive, stop for photos...you get the idea.

Our drive today...detailed:
After leaving our accommodation we stopped at Latefossen, a beautiful and impressive waterfall. We drove on to Odda then to Eidfjord and stopped at Voringsfossen (apparently the tallest waterfall in Norway but we thought some others were taller). Backtracking somewhat we caught a ferry from Brimnes across Eidfjorden and travelled along the 13 to Voss. Along the way we entered a tunnel newish tunnel. It was quite impressive and even had a round-a-bout in it.

We took the Stalheim skleiva, an amazing road that wound down the mountainside. Gudvangen, the town in the valley was surrounded by waterfalls and had a little Viking village. From there we drove out to Naeroy to see the end of the fjord.

We entered an 11km tunnel that seemed to go on and on and popped out to find a little town Undredal and stopped to get photos and read their information board. They are known for their goats cheese (made using traditional methods) so we went off in search and bought some (Andrew says its the most expensive cheese he has ever bought...but it will be fun). It also had a beautiful stavkirke (church) built in 1147. The walls were all painted and upon investigation discovered they were all original from 1147.

Just down the road we found Flam and our apartment for the night. Now we're looking at the days ahead.
