TRANSPORT IS DISGUSTING
I'm writing this on a night bus which stinks of piss and with air conditioning which hardly works. We've been on the bus for about 5hours now and haven't stopped for water once. I may be dying. If this is my last post I won't die happy.
So we got up at 5.30am to our hotel staff knocking on our door saying our taxi (we don't trust Cambodian buses) was here - Errrrr we booked it for 6? GRRRR, great start to the morning. After dragging ourselves out of bed and not even so much as running a comb through our hair and Kim being pretty grumpy we were ready and in the taxi in 10 minutes (I'm currently commando)
The taxi if you can call it that was gross it smelt funny. The guy also tried to charge us $30 to the border when we agreed $25 - never fear we paid $25 THE SNAKE!
what I didn't expect was for the driver to turn the ac off, to stop about 4 times to pick some other people up and to drive our taxi with a child on his lap. I couldn't deal with this so I decided it was probably best if I just went to sleep.
We arrived at the border, whizzed through passport control and got a minibus to Bangkok, which we waited an hour for. If we didn't think our transportation could get worse it did. The Ac hardly blew, we were in a minibus with about 12 other people and a load of rucksacks, me and jess were on the back seat of four which meant I had the lovely job of sitting next to a guy who stank of BO. Now don't get me wrong I'm currently not smelling of Gucci. But honestly whack the lynx out. There really is no excuse! Eurghhhh there were also the added bonus of Mosquitos flying dopely about inside the bus, and the best quality was of course what I refer to as the bmx suspension. The suspension itself meant that every bump we went over awoke me and jess as our heads hit the ceiling.
We arrived in Bangkok about 3.5 hrs before we needed to so headed for a fruit shake and a bamboo tattoo (Kim's back- which f***ing killed I may add). Sorry mum!!! But it's only a tiny tiny strip if thai writing and it's under my bra strap so you won't ever have to see it.
ANYWAYS TONIGHT THIS BUS HAS REALLY TOPPED IT. We're arriving in Koh Tel at 6am tomorrow morning and we have to get a boat across but god knows what that is going to be like. My view is things can only get better right? I'm going to try and get some sleep otherwise i'll be needing the loo, or thinking about needing it and there is no way on this planet that i am using that cupboard.
GROSS
Sorry guys but NO peace and NO love
Yours sincerely,
2 very Grumpy, tired, fed-up, sweaty, smelly, hungry, thirsty girls
Kim and jess xo
Just to update you further bus arrived at the ferry port at 3.30am our boat leaves at 7am which means were currently camped out and getting eaten alive by Mosquitos. FUN
