Kevin and Joannie on tour
On Tuesday night we drove through spectacular thunderstorms to Heathrow and stayed at the Heathrow Hotel on Bath Road. It was gone ten but food was still being served. Kevin had a pumpkin and goat's cheese ravioloni and Joan had a korma with paneer. Poor Kevin's meal was surprisingly unappetising. When the waiter asked if we liked it, we said no but he didn't do anything about it. Throughout dinner lightning was flashing wildly.
After breakfast we moved our car to the Park Inn where we are leaving it for the holiday. A hoppa bus came quickly and we were through check in and security by 11 am - three hours before our flight. We passed the time doing crosswords and Sudoku.
The flight was uneventful. We always order a ovo-lacto-vegetarian meal but always get a vegan option.
Our flight was delayed due to traffic at the airport. We caught the brand new Union Pearson Express train to downtown before grabbing a taxi to Phil and Penny's house. They were out at a concert with the girls but Billy welcomed us and we had a good catch up. Mindy the dog was there too.
Penny had bought a sweet potato and goat's cheese lasagne which was infinitely better than the pasta K had eaten the day before. There was a local beer named Pompous Ass English Ale. Kevin was appalled that Phil had put Speckled Hen in the fridge. A bit of wine was imbibed before we went to bed at midnight, or 5 am UK time!!
