Kevin and Joannie on tour
In Chile we seem to be able to sleep for very long hours. After eventually getting up and having breakfast, we decided to go out only to find we had left the lights on in the car and the batteries were completely flat. We tried to bump start it down a hail but there was no life in the battery at all so the car was left abandoned
We went to the main house and one of the young men said he would sort it out but needed his car. We asked to call a garage but he was adamant he would sort it out. It was a long wait and we just read all day and were harassed by the cats who were angry we had run out of milk!
About 7, he turned up with make shift cables. This failed to start the car. So then he swapped the battery from his HiLux to our Terrano, used the battery to start the engine, left the engine running and put it back in his car. Genius.
He would initially not take payment but Kevin insisted. After that we took the truck out for a long run to ensure it was fully charged, before a dinner of veggie Spag Bol.
