Monday 3rd August late am The Wessex Gallery
After the exhibition we visited the main museum where they had a timeline exhibition. This was a journey back in time in 10 stages dating from 1220AD at Old Sarum back through Early Medieval at Warminster 9th century, Roman 3rd Century, Iron Age 1st Century, Bronze Age 1500-700BC, Late Neolithic, The Amesbury Archer 2400BC, Stonehenge 3000BC, Early Neolithic 4000BC and Palaeolithic 59,000 years ago.
The whole exhibition was brilliant and we wandered around gazing in awe at the finds of different archaeologists. Artefacts were arranged according to their historic periods. There were drawers at most of the exhibits that you could find out more about the particular exhibit. They classed it as meeting ancient ancestors which included The Amesbury Archer of 4,300 years ago and the Swallowcliffe Saxon Princess of 1,300 years ago.
