Friday 21st August - St Andrews Golf Course

I should have been playing on one of the 6 courses that are here. I knew of the Old and the New Courses but was surprised to find another 4 courses here.
If I had had the time I could have played. £35 to hire a set of clubs, £70 course fees, NO trundlers allowed on course so the golf bag had to be carried so that's another £80 for a caddie and then I was informed that it would be another £200 for Jannie to spend in the 4 hours that I was playing and she was shopping. Just could not afford it!

There is a walking path right down the side of the Old Course that we went for a walk on and got to the Club House and the 1st tee area for the Jubilee Course. We watched a group tee off but before they did so they hit a few balls each into a blow up driving net. I think that would be good back home. The Club House had a restaurant that looked altogether too posh for us and as a beer was calling we headed away from the course and went to another of Jim's favourite pubs for lunch.
