Saturday 5th September - Early Rise
We got up this morning at 6.00am to watch the ship come into Kotor Harbour. Kotor is in Montenegro and is at the end of a type of fjord although it's not a fjord as they are carved out by glacial movement and the Bay of Kotor is the result of an old river running from the interior to the Adriatic Sea.
The mountains rise up from the sea on both sides of a long thin bay that leads to the walled town of Kotor.
It was very spectacular coming up the bay and at one point the ship passed through a narrow gap of about 600m.
The ship came to a stop in the middle of the harbour and after a bit of manoeuvring put down the anchors where the ship was to stay for the day.
