Friday 4th September - Lunch
Back at the dock we moved from the boat to a cafe for a sandwich and a salad and of course a beer. Under the umbrellas it wasn't too bad but we had to use the bathroom inside the cafe and out the back and the heat were awful. Soon we were sticky messes with sweat running down our arms.
We walked back up passed various churches, a Franciscan Monastery and Museum and although they were lovely we were too hot to go inside.
The side streets run from the clock tower at the Ploce Gate, all of the buildings are similar in style as a result of an earthquake in the 17th Century.
The clock tower features a pair of bronze men who move up and strike the bell on the hour.
We stopped at various shops along the way and bought a few things to take home. We headed slowly for the Pile Gate and boarded our shuttle for to get back to the ship.
It's a swim and then another swim and finally we cooled off. We chatted with a couple of ladies from Sydney who have been on so many cruises and knew all the tricks to get cheap cruises. So maybe in the future.
Drinks on deck and watch the ship sail from Dubrovnik. Great Day.
After dinner we went out on deck to watch the best lightning display we had seen for a long time.
