WE ARE NOT IN OZ!!!! WE ARE IN THAILAND, BANGKOK!!!!!!

Arrived yesterday early evening, tour guide was waiting as hoped at the airport to take us to the hotel (aka a very small room with a shower u can use whilst using the toilet!) But other than that air con and hot water..so we cant complain! Last night we headed to backpacker heaven Th khao san road with a guy from our flight, had a couple of beers sampled the local cuisine which was better than expected. and extraordinarily cheap...3 pounds for beer and meal. Had a good night sleep after the flight and declined all offers to the ping pong shows. Although we might head there 2nite... just to experience the culture.

Today, 29/02/08...we got up making it in time for breakfast, which was suprisingly english. Then headed out to see the sights. We hopped in a Tuk-Tuk where a thai man took it upon himself to be our personal tour guide so aswell as seeing the temples and Grand Palace (which were amazing, the detail and effort that goe into them is beyond belief) we also got taken to a thai suit factory and a jewelers. Just chilling now, we will be heading out this evening and see where the evening take us!

Where we are staying in Bangkok is pretty cool, very central to everything unlike anything we could have imagined, the streets are lined with food vendors, markets and lots of nice places to have a drink or 2 and good food.

We leave for Ko tao tomorro by bus and ferry overnight...very impressed with the price of everything this cost us about a tenner each and its not a short journey. After the heat and humidity of Bangkok it will be nice to soak up the sun on some pretty nice beaches.
