This morning we walked across the road to the Clare Country Market, but it was a little disappointing with very few stalls and very few customers, it did have a great relaxed country feel though! After lunch we went for a drive to Seven Hills Cellar, it was the very first winery established in the Clare Valley, set up by the Catholic Church initially for Sacramental Wine. It is truly a beautiful winery with magnificent old buildings in pristine condition. The underground cellar was amazing and we even got to look at a underground Crypt under the church with three vacant plots left. The burials go back to the late 1800's, it was a fascinating place! After looking around the Seven Hills Cellar we went for a drive around the Spring Gully Tourist Loop, a great dirt road meandering through some beautiful country with some awesome corners that I took full advantage of! After this we drove around town looking at some of the stunning old stone houses, so beautiful!
After our evening meal we took Lochie to the miniature railway operating in the beautiful Melrose Park not far from the centre of town. The trains are really well made and the old blokes driving them get a real kick out of taking everyone for a ride around the park. It was a great way to end the day!
