J: So we arrived at Merimubula and we did the small Boardwalk in the rain and then decided the small car park where we were, would be our spot for the night as we had an early start. In the morning we went deep sea fishing! It was a beautiful day, hardly a ripple on the creek leading out to the sea, then we headed out to sea and the waves where rather large..... the swells where over 5 meters and boats around us where disappearing on the swells, Yuri immediately felt rough and went to visit the toilet to be sick lol. Mel gets terribly sea sick so at that point, we were saying that it was a good job she stayed on dry land.
S: On the way out, there were about 4 dolphins playing in front of the boat. I must admit I was scared they were going to hurt themselves as they were so close to the boat. So I cast my line out, and notice that Yuri had disappeared and when he came back he looked a little green lol. So I caught the first fish of the day a leather jacket. I give Yuri points, he was still fishing even though he was puking up over the side and he managed to catch a leather head too. James was the other side and his line ended up being caught up with another line and next thing I know James is looking green and then just vomits over the side of the boat. Well as the dutiful wife, I continued fishing and caught 4 leather heads, 1 flat head and a kind of wrasse. I was obviously on a roll.
J: So Sam is catching fish so quick I swear one time she didn't even hit the bottom before she got a fish biting. I had 3 fish hooked but they broke my line each time, then finally I caught 1 fish, it was the highest value fish which made me feel better but it's a good job Sam was about otherwise we would have had little to cook for dinner.
S: On the way back in to the bay we saw massive rays in the water. They were about 3 meters wide and just swimming around. We were supposed to go dolphin sightseeing but as it had been so choppy and we were lucky enough to have spotted some already. We didn't think it was fair to submit Mel and the boys to the journey again. The boys had removed their breakfast from their stomachs and we were all hungry so we stopped and had breakfast at a little cafe overlooking the creek. The guy was English and didn't want to stop talking to us lol. His Mexican breakfast was amazing, along with the massive banana milkshake I think everyone was full and ready to rock and roll.
