So we arrive in Auckland and spent a night in a hostel as we arrived a bit earlier than expected as were staying wth Jonos Uncle Peter and his fiancee Jen on Thurs through over the weekend. We are staying in a hostel in the city centre so we had trouble parking, the hostel staff told us that parking on the street was free from 6pm til 8am next morning so we parked the beast and later that night came out looking for an internat cafe and i suddenyl noticed that the beast wasnt parked where we left it, panic set in and i thought oh my god the cars been stolen(Jono has been known to either leave keys in the lock or not lock it in the past), my first thought was oh my god how much are we going to have to pay the insurance company for the flaming car then Jono said it might have been towed, so off we went to the police station who told us that it had in fact been towed was so relived that it hadnt been stolen!!!! They towed it because only street stalls are allowed to park in that particular spot but was there any signs....nooooo!!!!! Anyway 200 NZ Dollars later we got the car back, bit annoyed about the money but at least it wasnt stolen!!!! Tomorrow think were going to see the sights of the city and get Jono some new trainers the smell coming out of them is deathly!!!!!
Our first real day in Auckland the rain had stopped hoorah!!! So we headed into town and spent few hours looking round the shops got Jono some new trainers thank the lord and then we had a nice lunch down by the harbour felt all rich and famous eating lunch near all the yachts etc, had a stone grill where the meat of your choice comes out on a big hot stone and you cook is yourself just like when i was little when mum and dad took me somewhere in the country was fun and then we got lost trying to find our way to Jonos cousin Peters house so we had to put in a sos call and he had to come and find us at some random petrol station, their house is lovely and so nice being able to stay somewhere nice and Peter and Jen have made us feel so welcome we never want to leave! We had a games night last night did a pub quiz, darts and they even have an air hockey table in their local pub the Dog N Duck which is actually all in the garage downstairs its great! Jono loves it cos he gets to play on the playstation and i get to have baths and watch tv its great! Tonight were going bowling and out to a japanese restaurant which neither of us have been to before so were looking forward to it, been raining the whole time which is a bit annoying but prob staying here for another few days then when weather is better heading north to the bay of islands then back to Auckland for their engagement party and before we fly out to China which we have now extended to 30 days instead of 10 and the temp is -3 at the moment yikes!
Had a really amazing time in Auckland with Pete and Jen and we cant wait to be able to go back and see them again
