Took the Oz bus from Airlie to Townsville, happy to leave behind the bed bugs of Airlie Beach (they were gross & we got quite a few bites) but less happy to leave behind the people we have met. Arrived in Townsville at 2pm ready to catch the ferry across to Magnetic Island and thankfully the rain was finally coming to an end. Arrived on the island and took the bus to our hostel Base, a wonderful hostel right on the beach with little cabins with good views.

We decided to hire mopeds to explore the island which was not one of my better ideas..! Me & Arber both hired a moped each and the guy tried to teach me to ride one, I should have realised that it would all end in disaster but thought I should give it a go. As I predicted I wasn't too good and ended up revving the engine whilst trying to turn which resulted in me hitting the curb and going face first into a tree. Thankfully I wasn't badly hurt just got a lovely huge bruise, a swollen knee & an aching body. After my incident (which meant Arber didn't even get a go) we decided that taking to the island by foot was a better idea. We took a long walk to Arcadia hoping to go and see the Forts but because of my knee Arber made me stop and we got the bus back and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the sunshine. The local guy who ran the moped rental took us on a drive and we saw our first wild Koala! Had a chilled out evening and did the real aussie thing and watched Neighbours!

Mg Island was a beautiful little place and despite katies near death experince completly stress free ( i do have pictures on my phone moments before impact but will upload these later). This is where i believe we made our best grub for me it was beans with beef sausages and katie had spaghetti all complimented with toast! - truely amazing!!

Our day spent chilling out on the beach was well deserved and after our little trek (Katie is the worst patient in the world ever !!! she went half way round an island before she saw sense!!) We chilled on the grass enjoying the sun and hanging out with our ozzie found mates! - i have also learnt a few card tricks and spent the remainder of our time practising away and using katie as my beautiful asssitant.
