Before leaving to go to Brisbane we took a walk up Cape Byron, the walk was really steep but well worth the view from the top by the lighthouse- we had wicked views of the bay and the beach and as it was whale season we were lucky enough to see them in the distance. We took the bus in the afternoon and made our way to Brisbane. We passed through Surfer's Paradise and was glad we hadn't decided to stay as it seemed like Benidorm mac two with high rise tower blocks on the beach. On the way to Brisbane we stopped of to try Zorbing- which involves being rolled down a hill in a large inflated ball filled with water, I wasn't in the mood to get soaking wet in the cold but Arber gave it a go with two guys we met Sam & Nick. It was hilarious to watch although I did have to watch a man kill a Cane Toad with his flip flop whilst I was waiting and then he procedded to kick it around the grass- very sad.
We finally arrived in Brisbane, only stayed for one night but got a feel for the town. It seemed pretty quiet & not worth spending too much time. We went to the Down Under bar to watch one of the biggest 'football' games (Rugby to us) in Australia - New South Wales Vs Queensland. I learnt a few rules but unfortunately NSW lost 6-10.
Arber:
Zorbing was a hoot when arived in the dark to the place the balls illumainated like alien ships, we stripped down and super man flew into the balls with blue warm water to just make it that little bit more fun the roll was a right laugh and we slipped and slid inside. Getting out felt like being born again a bit graphic when you see the pictures but you understand what i mean !!! Lots of fun gotta try it !!
Brisbane was nice enough and the State of Origin match was really cool not that we understood what was going on but by the last 2 min it got really intense!!
When we settled down for the night we found that there was one too many people in our room and after a bit of blaggin we managed to get one nights free accomodation for one of us !!!
