After leaving surf camp we began on our way to Byron Bay. We arrived at our hostel, Holiday Village around 3.30pm and we are sharing a room with Mark & Dom two guys from London who are really hilarious. We took a walk to Main Beach where we watched a really beautiful sunset. The beach is gorgeous and Arber was keen to hit the waves to try surfing again. Went back to the hostel and decided to make the most of a free BBQ at Cheeky Monkey's a club across from our hostel. Had lots of fun there drinking $7 jugs of Toohey's all night & dancing on the tables (it seemed like the norm there...) & ended the night with Dom playing us some tunes on his guitar.

The following day we took a day trip to Nimbin with Jim's Alternative Tours. We took the mini bus there and Jim entertained us en route with funny stories and good music. We arrived in Nimbin a hippie town and spent a while walking around, it honestly felt like we were in the 60's. We left Nimbin in the afternoon and headed to the mountains where we met a hippie guy called Paul- he lived in the middle of nowhere and claims to have created a rainforest out of 72 acres of grass land- his property was very impressive and we went for a walk and we tried fruit from his trees. The whole day was definately a fun experience!

The following day we decided it was time to make the most of the long awaited sunshine and hit the beach. Arber borrowed a surf board and I just took the chance to sunbathe and read. That night we went for our final night out in Byron Bay and as usual went to Cheeky Monkey's we had sausage & mash for $2! I love living like a backpacker sometimes with really cheap food & drinks! Firstly Arber & Duncan (..A Scottish guy we met) entered a competition to win a trip to Fraser Island- the first person to bring back 2 dozen eggs & 2 Kg of Margarine from Woolworths won- Duncan won (although Arber did only enter to let him win as we had already booked our trip). We spent the evening drinking & dancing and watching a really bad circus act! During the night I ended up entering a dance competition in which I won a $100 bar tab despite the fact Duncan entered and ended up naked! For the rest of the night we just made the most of our bar tab and enjoyed a really good night in Byron Bay.

Arber:

Cheeky Monkeys was a right laugh, with things like jug auctions where we won jugs for spare change and weird fun and games!!

Nimbin was a real experince and Paul's place was out of this world he took us round and showed us his lifes work which was dotted with succulant star fruit and strange "art" in the form of Mc Donald's toys arranged in his rain forest he also had a beautiful lake that was soo serriene!!!

KT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she beat all the competition despite rumours of it being fixed and we all benifited from it !!! - On Duncan getting naked no one asked him to be honest some people just feel the need!!

We ended the night with a three man dance group to Katies horror!! - i thought we were pretty dam good but its debatable!!
