Katie:
We left Melbourne nice and early at 5am to pick up our first Oz Experience bus to start our trip up the east coast of Australia. There was 20 other travellers on the bus, quite a few people our age from England which was nice. It was good to be with other people as we learnt lots about what to do in Australia from their experiences. We drove first to an old gold mining town called Foster and then to the Southern most point of Australia, Wilsons Promontory. Whilst there we saw our first wild kangaroos, emus and wombats. Our guide Anthony taught us lots about the local horticulture and we saw our first gum trees and kookaburas. We had lunch in the Taeea Bulga National Park and were accompanied by lots of very hungry birds...they took quite a shining to both our food and Arber. I was a little bit wary to say the least and was not very impressed when they decided to sit on my head..!
From here we took a walk to Squeaky beach which is a gorgeous, clean white sandy beach. We continued our drive to Lakes Entrance where we took some pictures and went for a Flake dinner (...which I found out was shark). After dinner we went back to the hostel and retreated very quickly to our rooms as there was this Australian middle aged lady who kept wanting to talk to us...
Arber:
She was bloody crazy !!! and very concerned with whether royalty should marry out of class - but mostly she was just crazy and till that day i dont think i have ever been reffered to as exotic!!
Wombats are soooo cute!!! Thats all i have to say about that!
P.S Lakes Entrance is bizarrare its a lake that has a opening into the sea and flows from somewhere else!!! To me that means that it aint a lake!!!
The group were a cool mix some with a greater clasp of english than others which just made it more interesting!
