Today we visited more wineries! Firstly we went to Wairau River who actually had some lovely wines. After than we went to a French place, No 1, that did bubbles as their specialty. Today we finally made it to our first winery (the whole purpose of this trip)! After our in motel breakfast we headed to the first vineyard, Clos Henri. It was run by a French family and we tried their range of Sav Blancs and Pinot Noirs. The next vineyard was Brancott where we got to sample a range of different wines. This morning we left Nelson and drive 2hrs to Picton for a bit of a day trip on our way to Blenheim. The drive to Picton was basically two whole hours of bends and unfortunately I was the one driving! It wasn't too bad and I seriously think I've become a better driver since we got here. Today we woke up at a decent hour, 9am, and stopped at Countdown (the NZ version of Woolworths) and bought some breakfast and lunch for the day. We then took a very unexpectedly long and windy drive over Takaka Hill to Takaka, Pohara Beach and Tata Beach. It was an almost two hour drive and I'm not entirely sure it was worth it. Today we woke up for our last bnb breakfast in Hanmer. I had a fruit crepe today which was tasty but not as good as the French toast. We enjoyed a nice chat with some other guests and the bnb owners whilst eating our meal. At around 9:30am we packed up the car, waved goodbye and followed the gps to Nelson where we arrived at around 2pm.
