Today we woke up for our last bnb breakfast in Hanmer. I had a fruit crepe today which was tasty but not as good as the French toast. We enjoyed a nice chat with some other guests and the bnb owners whilst eating our meal.
At around 9:30am we packed up the car, waved goodbye and followed the gps to Nelson where we arrived at around 2pm.
We had fortunately booked this accom a few days back, thanks to Shannon's help, and we checked into The Honest Lawyer without any issues. Our accom is the cutest country pub. It looks like an English house and it's super cool. We laughed when we first got into our room because of the hideous (but perfectly appropriate) bed spreads and other decor. We even have a bunch of law encyclopedias in our room. There is free wifi too but the signal isn't great.
We went for a drive into Nelson city centre to pick up some info on the Abel Tasman National Park and also to get a small bite to eat. We then drove around to a coastal walkway but decided we were not dressed for a long, windy, cold walk so went back around to Tahunanui beach to check it out. It was pretty cold there too and we saw a stack load of wind surfers.
We then went back to our super sweet accom for a rest.
For dinner we want down to the pub under our accom but it was super packed because there was a jazz band playing a part of the Nelson Jazz Festival. We listened to the band over one drink and then after finding out we couldn't get a table we dashed across the road to another place. They had fancy, expensive food which we weren't keen on. So we dashed back in the rain to our accom to grab the car keys and drive to the nearest eating place.
We found a small bar and cafe where we had a delicious pasta and a wine. We then drove back home and had another wine in the pub before traipsing upstairs to our room for bedtime.
