This morning we left Vicksburg and headed to Memphis. Straight drive on the highway about 3 1/2 hrs. Checked into Holiday Inn and got back in the 7 seater and headed to Sun studios. This was a great tour and Coco was our guide. She was a massive fan of Carl Perkins and everything music. The tour was awesome Elvis, Jerry lee Lewis, Jonny Cash etc all recorded here. Coco told some great stories. We had already contacted Scott's friend from Mt A. Lisa. Lisa booked us into Rendezvous for a Memphis barbecue dinner. The ribs, beans and slaw were divine and they also brought out potato salad and corn bread for us to try. We then moved onto Jerry Lee Lewis' joint in Beale St for some music and drinks. Danos, Scott and I went back to Lisa's place for some Aussie music and Bundy rum that we had brought over. Her house is beautiful with amazing furnishings. Average house price in Memphis is a 100k. Liz spoke to a girl behind a bar in Beale st she was a medical student and was earning $2.13 per hour. No wonder they rely so heavily on tips. Another day done and dusted bed around 1 am.
