We headed off this morning around 7.30. Beautiful clear day we are heading to Grandfather Mountain. It was lovely walked over the swinging bridge. The swinging bridge is a mile above sea level. Freezing cold up the top. The blue ridge parkway is very beautiful. We went to the cafe because we saw a sign that said cappuccino and we were dying for a nice coffee. What we got was a hot chocolate and Scott added 2 sugars to it so it was undrinkable. We drove through Boone named after Daniel Boone. Stopped for lunch at Wilksborough stopped at Hardee's for lunch similar to Maccas. Driving on these roads is so stressful we thought we were gone. Danos was driving and we were coming onto the highway there was a traffic jam and the truck in front couldn't stop so went to come over at the same time as us., we all screamed as Danos yanked the steering wheel. The other car had a good view of it. Danos also had a problem with a blue truck. Even when he was behind us Danos was focussed on him. It was like the movie Duel. We crossed the border from North Carolina to Virginia. We stopped at Christiansburg and changed drivers from Gerry and Danos to Trevor and Scott. Scott called it Death race 2000. So many trucks everyone going so fast. We made it to Lexington went to Applebee's grill and bar for dinner.
