Hey

In Cairns now and have a had a great time. When i arrive i spent most of the day at the hostel really. I had booked to go on the reef the followin day which was an early start so i though id have a quite one.

Yesterday was a brilliant day! I went out onto the Great Barrier Reef! The boat i had booked was a pretty good one so we got out to the reef pretty quickly. I heard stories about the really cheap boats that take for ever to get there and loads of people are sick becuase they are so rocky! So i made sure i got a good one, which was still very cheap!! I had also booked to do one dive. I am certified from thailand but hadnt done a dive since there so was a little nervous but excited at the same time!! One we got to the first sight i went out and did some snorkelling!! The reef was amazing! It was very shallow so you could see everything up close. The different fish and colourful coral was unreal. I saw a shark!!! White tip Reef Shark! I looked up to try and tell someone but i was on my own so think i was the lucky one to spot it! Very pleased with myself!!

Soon after i went out on my dive! There was no time to be nervous, as a soon as we were in the water we were down! The water was warm so i didnt wear a suit, just a bikini, which was weird but good! the guide we had was excellent!! He pointed out so much stuff. We saw loads of Nemo's!! Clown Fish!! they were gorgeous!! Saw two more sharks as well! How cool!

After the dive we had lunch and set off to another part of the reef. The guy said i could do another dive if i wanted for $20 so i did because i had enjoyed it so much!! So off i went on another dive, again excellent. Saw another shark, then a sting ray!! And then to top it off, i saw a sea turtle!! Oh it was gorgeous! they are really friendly!! they swim up to you and you can stroke them, which if course i did! there was a photographer down there and i got my photo taken with it!! Its so good!! I had been wanting to swim with a turtle for ages and finally i did!

On the way back to cairns the boat put on a little entertainment with free wine, cheese and biscuits. Fab!! Met a loads nice people on the boat as well. It was a great day!!

Today i have just come into town for the day. looking around teh shops and then going down to the lagoon on the water front, similar to the one in airlie beach!

I fly back to sydney tomorrow where i have a fews day before heading over to fiji! Cant believe im leaving australia so soon! Ive had a great time here though, its a very beautiful country!

Not sad about leaving though, its fiji next!!! haha! Wow!
