Hey everyone

Here in brisbane was the first night on my own, pretty scary. I was supposed to stay and another night in surfers paradise but i had a change of heart and decided id like to see the capital of queensland!

I arrived at the transit centre and managed to get myself into a hostel just over the road, so it would be easy in the morning when catching my next bus.

After checking in i went for a walk around the city. Its a very nice city, some of the buildings were beautiful. I had a good look around the shops, and of course couldnt keep avoid "jay jays" (not sure if emma has filled you in about that places, its a backpackers dream, CHEAP).

After my little walk i went back to the hostel, cooked myself some tea, and spent the night in front of the hostel tv watching rubbish american programs. Was very strange doing everything on my own but it was ok. The dorm i was staying in was full of boys!! i was the only girl!! So obviously i was a bit wary at first but actually they were all really nice and i have a good chat with most of them. Met two guys from an island off fiji who were really nice, they were part of some project in social work of something. There were some guys from korea, but they couldnt speak any english so our chat ended pretty quickly.

The next day my bus wasn't due until 2.30pm so i checked out of the hostel and put my luggage in storage at the station. I headed into town, grabbed myeslf a cup of tea, then ended up in the cinema watching "wild hogs". Funny film!!

After killing some good time i wondered around the centre a little more getting some photos and then back up to the station where i grabbed some sushi and waited for my bus.
