Barcelona is a pretty awesome place. We caught the metro to our hotel after arriving, which was easy to figure out. However, our hotel was still a 15 minute hike up a steep hill (not the most fun with a big backpack in 32 degree heat!) Our hotel is really nice, 4 stars, swimming pool, spa and sauna, and a gym. It cost the same amount to stay in a hostel in the city, but we figured we had the time in Barcelona so we might as well get somewhere nicer that's a bit out of town.
Henry and I headed into La Ramblas for dinner, which is definitely a street you've got to get off if you don't want to be horribly ripped off. There are quite alot of nicer shops and restaurants off the main drag, you've just got to search for a while. It's alot more expensive here then Roses, and your not suposed to swim in the beaches here because the waters polluted with sewage (yuk?!) I'm glad I went to Roses now to get some good beach time and swimming in while in Spain! And some awesome food!
