Yesterday, Henry and I headed in to town to see the Sagrada Familia, where we randomly ran into Matt and Tom from our topdeck tour! It was good to see people that we knew, it doesnt happen very often in Europe! We lined up for about half an hour to get into the cathedral, which is just mind blowing in both scale, and detail. The cathedral is still under construction, and by the sounds of it, they've still got a long way to go, it's only half the size that it will eventually be! And it's been 125 years since they started. I'm glad that I paid the money to go inside, it looks awesome, very grand and beautiful. You can't help but keep on looking up at the roof and the Forrest of pillars. I took a lot of pictures but they don't do much justice to the real thing.
After the Sagrida Familia, Henry and I split from the others again to go and see the old Olympic area and meet up with them that night for dinner with Mitch and Erin, who just arrived from Ibiza.
The old Olympic area was pretty cool, great views and gardens around the whole area. We went to have a look at the old town, but ran out of time. We met up with everyone that night for tapas and sangria instead, yum! It was good fun seeing everyone. At the end of the night, Henry got pick-pocketed on his way home, but managed to realize and ran after the guy who gave it back to him, which is good! Pickpocketers are by far the worse here so far, they are everywhere! So many people just cling to their bags because its so common, and the police do nothing!
Today we all nursed a slight red wine hangover and headed to watch the rugby 7's before heading to the beach. The beaches are fake but still look awesome, they are just for lying in the sun though as apposed to swimming, so lots of bronzed up bodies (including still the trend of no bikini tops in Spain). It is still a pretty happening atmosphere down there!
