Struth mate. Crikey...........

On route to Byron Bay after a 24 hour stop in Brisbane. After Castaway we headed south and had one more night in Rainbow Beach. Sunday morning we got up nice and early and headed to Brisbane stopping off on the way at Australia/Steve Irwin Zoo.

We arrived there just before midday and had a walk around looking at the crocodiles and lizards. After this we grabbed some kangaroo food and headed to Roo Heaven. Wondering around getting photos and feeding the kangaroos, Steve and I found a couple sleeping so decided to get some pictures spooning them. Another one for the collection (after the tigers in Thailand).

Early afternoon there was a crocodile feeding session which was cool but it just wasn't the same without Steve Irwin himself. No "Struth!" or "Crikey!". After this we headed to feed the elephants and then walked back through the Koala Walk where surprise surprise we saw s*** loads of Koalas. After getting some photos here we headed back towards the exit (this isn't all we saw but the main things).

Back in the car and we completed the drive to Brisbane and checked in to our hostel. We had a walk around to get the feel of it and then the others started drinking. I needed a night off to catch up with sleep so waited for them all to leave and crashed out. Next morning we had to move the car before 7 so up I got and stuck it in an all day car park. Dan and Steve woke up and carried on drinking so I let the two of them and Pete go off whilst I did my washing and got my hair cut. After this I walked round Brisbane for about an hour and a half with my iPod. Nice relaxing day before meeting up with the others and now heading down to Byron Bay.

Brisbane was really nice though. I definitely preferred it to Cairns and Melbourne but Sydney still wins best city in Australia for me.
