I'm on a boat, I'm on a boat, everybody look at me cause I'm sailing on a boat..........
Today we have set off on our longest drive so far. About 750-800km from Airlie Beach to Town of 1770. We have just had the most incredible four days in Airlie and the Whitsunday Islands.
On Friday we woke up early in Mission Beach and set off on our 7 hour journey south to Airlie. We checked into the hostel and decided to head out. 12 litres of goon between us and we didn't need a drink when we out. We sat by the beach drinking before heading to a club.
Next day we checked in for our boat and killed a bit of time before boarding at 2pm. We were onboard the Atlantic Clipper. It's well known for being a bit of a party boat. Probably because it can hold up to 52 people whereas the other boats we knew were out had 17 and 11. After our safety briefing we were left to get to know each other and got allocated rooms. Everyone got the alcohol out pretty early and this was to set the tone for the evening. After dinner the crew tried playing drinking games with us but everyone got a bit too rowdy and they gave up and left us to it. Everyone was hammered and having a great time until the music was turned off at midnight and we all headed to bed. As I got back to our room the others were in bed and being verbally abused by a lovely Irish girl called Eileen. After asking her to move out of her room and getting negative responses with some verbal abuse thrown in at no extra charge I pushed her out and slammed the door in her face. What a horrible girl.
Wake up call from one of the crew singing Tom Jones - Sex Bomb at 6.30!!! Was not impressed but was glad they did in the end because it was such a good day. We started with breakfast (as you do) and were then dropped off at Whitehaven Beach. We walked up to the lookout point and the views were incredible. We then went down to the beach and chilled there for a couple of hours. The sand was amazing. So soft and pure. After this we headed back to the boat and had lunch followed by a scuba dive. It was a really disappointing dive for me because I had problems equalising the pressure in my ears and my mask kept fogging up. The main reason that I did the dive though was because the photographer came down with us and I still got some great photos.
After the dive we headed back to the boat and it was still only 2pm which meant we had the whole afternoon to chill out. Everyone was jumping off the diving board at the side of the boat, going down the slide, and just chilling on the top deck. That evening it was more drinks and drinking games before crashing out about 1ish. This time the crew didn't give up and the games ended with Steve completely naked and Dan wearing nothing but a yellow womans dress. Pictures might follow :P
Up again at 6.30 to another song by Steve from the crew and it was a chilled out morning of diving, snorkelling, or the option I chose of chilling out on top deck. After this we headed back to Airlie Beach, checked into a hostel and had a nap. Well all of us did except Dan. He decided to start drinking at 10am and he wanted to do anything but sleep.
After our nap we grabbed some food and headed to the after party. Most people from the boat turned up and it was the best night out I've had in Australia so far. That brings us up to date. Fraser Island needs to be really good to match up to the Whitsundays but hopefully it can do.
Hope everyone is all good
