Kayaking in rain, sun, rain, sun, repeat!!!
The first night I have the whole place to myself but the second night the whole place has been booked up by to tour group operator, so I was forced to change rooms to a private for twice the price but twice as nice! I was talking to a sail boat salesman and interesting fact, other than a certain distance north of the equator Rio Dulce River is the only spot Insurance companies will let me put your boat during hurricane season as it's protected by the mountains.
Tortuga had free kayaks to use, they weren't the greatest but it did the job. I started out in the sun and within 10 minutes I was soaking wet!!! This went on for hours so I just kept on keeping on! A couple kilometers away was an old Spanish Fork on the point used to protect from Pirates with cannons all over the place, it was pretty cool! Lots of locals fishing and quite a few in their little canoes going to and from their houses. I guess I put on a solid 8 km in the kayak and even with the rain I still ended up getting burnt on my face!
They had a free boat shuttle into town so I took that in and shopped around for a cheaper hotel for tomorrow night. I found a good one ate some street food and went back to Tortuga for the night. The guy managing the resort was super nice guy but he turned out to be a little too nice!!!
If you know what I mean! LOL
