Off to Guatemala!

So mom and I made it to the airport and to our terminals no problems. I checked my bags and went back to see her. She was standing in line waiting as well so I joined her. After we took her visa and took some cash out of the ATM. We got a cup of coffee and said goodbye! I went back to my terminal to go through customs, waited in line for a half an hour took out my passport and visa wasn't there!!! I had left Visa in the ATM in my mom's terminal........

I ran so fast back to the terminal praying the whole way that the visa would be there...... and it was!!! Someone had placed it on top of the ATM machine! After a massive sigh of relief and catching my breath I walk back to my terminal to do it all again! Not off to such a great start!!!

My flight was delayed three hours but I still managed to arrive in Guatemala during the day time.
I got a cab to my hotel and went for a walk, it wasn't long before I came upon street food vendors and got a big taco for about a dollar! So many people selling so much stuff everywhere you looked. I knew right away I would want to leave the city tomorrow and head to Antigua, then I met a man on the street named Carlos who could speak pretty good English. We chatted a bit he told me he was studying medicine and was becoming a doctor, I told him I wanted to leave the city and he said he would help me get there on the chicken bus. I showed him where I was staying and he said he would come and meet me in the morning!
