Up and early for breakfast this morning as we headed to the Vatican early today. On the bus at 7:30am on the dot to go, no sign of Conner, but too bad as we had a schedule to keep... To Rome today, which included a stop on the way in Orvieto. Orvieto is a city sitting on top of some cliff faces, because of its site on a high, steep bluff of volcanic rock, the city was virtually impenetrable. Woke up early this morning at about 5:45am, rather cold, despite setting the air-con last night at a nice temperature it seems it has a mind of its own and was changing its temperature on its own and was running real cold, so shut off the air-con, got a blanket from the cupboard and jumped into bed to start yesterday's blog entry. Today was a travel day, involving a few hours on the bus which would take us to Pisa where apparently there is a some well known tower, and then we would head to Florence where we are going to spend the next day or so.
