Jono's Travels
No more Nice guys, today we leave the sun and comfort of Nice, for a day of rain on the bus as we make our way to Verona before continuing onto Venice, Italy. To be honest, I'm not in a good mood today, so chances are today's blog isn't going to be that great. Spelling and grammar are probably going to be just as bad as normal as well. If anything, the blog today will be rather short. The bus trip took us from Nice to Verona down the road through who the heck knows how many tunnels as it seemed we were under a new tunnel every minute or two. After making a couple of stops along the road to Verona we arrived in Verona during a downpour, not much choice but to head out in the rain and brave the elements despite the fact we were going to get soaked. We hopped off the bus and made our way into the township and saw the walls around the city, more medieval walls but still in rather good shape. We continued on into the town and walked down to the Verona Arena which is a Roman Amphitheater, now these days used to house international acts like U2, Sting and even One Direction. We then headed off to the site of Juliet's balcony put is purely for tourists, but hey. We rubbed the right breast of Juliet's statue as well, apparently meant to bring you good luck. Well it didn't work... It kept raining. From there it was back to the bus, stopping on the way to buy a masquerade mask. Something that at the time I thought I would use, but in the end I've decided to call it a night as soon as arriving here and have gone to bed. Who knows, I may change my mind and go, but chances are low, if I go then I'll update this blog.
