Day 26 24/9/2018
Exploring Lokrum Island and have our last fling in Dubrovnik
The last day in Dubrovnik has exploring the Island of Lokrum to find the last remaining game of throne set to complete our puzzle. There is a monastery dating back to the early 1500, a fitness centre ,two restaurants, and a tourist information centre and a ice cream shop. The big draw card that a few scene from the game of throne were film there. It also has an exhibition of the same thing ,the throne ,video stories and other information. I did find some cute rabbits are breeding and peacocks are doing the same. There is a beautiful rock pool that is called “the Black Sea “ as it is very salty and floating is made easier. We had explored for a while then decided to have lunch ,a nice prawns salad and a local white, high quality, and the wine served to complete our tradition of any new place deserves to be toasted. Three hrs had passed by the time we finished our exploring, so back on the boat for the 5 minute ride to Dubrovnik harbour. The wind was blowing much stronger now ,the temperature has dropped , the local are scurrying to grub any loose item , it is about to rain for the first time on our holiday.we get back just in the nick of time. We watch as the storm gets closer , the cloud formation is incredible , it turns out to be spit and wind.
We rested after our morning ,starting to feel like a real poppy, need naps every day , but we are going back to the old town for one more discovery tour. We are looking for a place called the Pink Shrimp , we had the most delectable shrimp in tempura batter , and Ceviche prawns in a jar ,the flavours were tantalising. We chatted to two Australian every nice people who were touring with there children .
The next place was a wine tasting bar ,it wine are supplied by the owner father and can be served with cheese . The wines we chose to taste were a Chardonnay and a posit, both really good but the chard took the gold. The cheese board was a goat , four different faster of cheese which all went well with the wine. The temperature has fallen and we are starting to shiver ,so we high tail it out town for home , we decide to try the bus service as we have a free ticket . We need the number 8. The bus take us right round town ,to the car ferries and ocean liner docks and back to our area , just like local we actually got it to stop right we’re we needed it , so we didn’t need to do the step but it took twice as long to get home.
So that end our adventure in Croatia we head to Greece tomorrow ,another exciting adventure coming our way, looking forward to what we find and what I can write for all of you.
